The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
Finally received my 2013 Philly boots. Ed and the band both sound great, but somehow the band and entire crowd went completely silent for 2 seconds between each song. Not sure how they got 20,000 Philadelphians to shut up, but they need to patent that secret.
The only disc that doesn't seem to have the 2 second skips between songs is night 2, disc 1. Seriously, it's 2014. iTunes has had an option to burn a gapless disc for probably 10 years now. WTF?!?! Has anyone else had this problem? I will be contacting 10 Club and asking for a refund or a replacement.

Same issue with Hartford. See the 2013 Official Bootleg thread.

Thanks for reminding me why I haven't visited this board in years. I don't have time to read through 23 pages. The search only brought up a brief mention of the 2 second problem with Hartford, and I thought the issue warranted a separate thread.
I'm just saying we have a thread to talk about the bootlegs. The gaps are certainly an aspect of the bootlegs and would be relevant to that thread.
And I feel this is a big issue that would get lost in the pages of people debating whether Ed says dwa or the.
Or it would be the foremost topic of conversation for a few pages, or as long as the topic warranted.
Why even bother having separate topics? Let's just have all discussion about anything related to Live Pearl Jam in one thread? If the original thread was 2013 bootleg quality, then I agree this would go under the same thread. But 2013 bootlegs is too broad a topic to be covered under one thread.
I assume the 2 second gap wasn't on the digital downloads.
No, it's a by-product of poor quality control when burning the CDs.
They're CD-Rs in cardboard cases, not professionally-produced CDs from a dedicated facility, I think these kind of problems are probably inevitable (particularly if they're churning out hundreds of them).

Stick with the downloads.
FInally some useful information in this thread. Thank you. I'm a sucker for physical media, even though I rip it and put it on the shelf.
Is this the post you're talking about, or is there more info out there? It should be relatively easy to run the tracks through a spectrum analyzer and compare with the lossless version. Did anyone try that?
From what Kevin Davis reported about his Vault #2 discs, I wouldn't even be confident that they're using lossless audio when burning the CDs.
I would assume any BTO company only accepts .wav files. I can't imagine why they would even see a .mp3.
I think your underestimating PJ2014's ability to fuck up.
So in other words, you guys are just speculating. If someone could point me in the direction of a lossless file from one of the Philly shows, I will run it through a spectral analyzer to compare it with the discs I received and post the results.

I doubt PJ/10c sees the files before the consumer. Brett (he's back, right?) probably sends the finished .wave files to Nugs and then encodes the .wav to FLAC and encodes the .wav to mp3 and posts the digital files to their download system.
It seems too simple and makes sense. My theory is likely dookie.

I don't have them. Don't jump to conclusions about the gaps. They could have burned them in TOA mode or simply forgot to set the lapse between tracks to 0 ( why most software still defaults to 2 seconds is beyond me). Lossy or lossless tracks could still have gaps between tracks. It's not proof of being lossy sourced. But it can't hurt to be sure.
