Detroit I 2003. Very rough start, the first few songs are not good. Nice renditions of Help, help and NAIS. Right now Lukin - this has to be one of the very few versions where Ed gets the lyrics right

Ljubljana 19 June 2000 because I just can't quit the Euro leg.

State College 03, haven’t listened to this in forever. Such a great show.

So I renewed my membership, I know, I know, nonetheless I have a code for a bootleg. I don’t have much interest in new shows, so leaning towards more from 2000. I did see they have a vault show from 2007. So RM, should I get that vault show, or further expand my 2000 collection?

The 1995 (Soldier Field) and 1998 Vault releases (LA & DC) are absolutely essential, I'd suggest getting any one of those if you don't have them already. Otherwise I recall that 2007 show being pretty good.

I have the two ‘98 vault shoes and the ‘93 one. I don’t have the ‘95 one yet, but plan on buying the CD. For the 10c renewal you get a digital copy, so didn’t want to use that on the lone Jack show.

For the 2000 tour, I have a solid collection, including: Detroit, Lubbock, Katowice 2, Milan, Verona, Pittsburgh, Boise, Tampa, Seattle 2, and Saratoga (among others). I wouldn’t mind having a few more Euro shows , or US leg 3.

After 2003, my collection really drops off, so that is why the 2007 vault show is intriguing.

I love that 2007 show.

The more I think about it, the more I think I should get the 2007 Vault show. I'm gonna get the actual CD for the '95 one, and I already have a good chunk of 2000 boots (though I do want more).

I don't like that setlist too much but performancewise this one is awesome! They did so many rarities that they don't do often and absolutely nailed them. I'd definitely recommend it!

Bristow 2003: pretty good mainset followed by one of the worst first encores of the whole tour. Apart from STBC nothing works here...

Gonna try to listen to all of 2000. Currently on San Sebastian. I know people dislike the Euro boots due to lack of bass, but I think they're fantastic.

Yeah, I think the Euro boots are great.

I even like the sound too, insufficient bass and all. There's a rawness to them that's really enjoyable.

I really like them too, even San Sebastian which may have the most flubs the entire tour. The band is in a lighthearted mood, and the crowd is really into things. RVM and Betterman are both really good as well. RVM is pretty short (I think under 6 minutes) and Betterman has no tag, just down to business versions. Daughter is unique too, because Ed tags Love Me Two Times which I think is the only time that's ever been done.

spenno, what are some of your favorites from the Euro leg? (i may have asked you the same question the "let's talk about the 2000 tour" thread).

YES. They definitely seemed like they enjoyed themselves, and you got a lot more - as you said - down to business versions. Another thing about this tour was they hadn't yet sped up Corduroy.

I listened to all those 2000 Eur boots on a version of Real Player where you could crank the volume up to 200%. I used 167% and the sound was awesome!
This was also the tour where I saw them for the first time. Open air show on a square in the middle of the city of Salzburg, Austria. Unreal experience!

Yeah, the Euro boots sound fucking tight, because they haven't been crushed and loudened for ipods. It's too bad they stopped issuing them this way.
