If they play "Get Right" in St. Louis in September, I'll quit RM forever.

yeah, that was disappointing, from my perspective anyway. pretty sure unthought was already on the set, and the only thing they played that was requested was glorified g.

list was:

brother
severed hand
blood
untitled/mfc
tremor christ
breakerfall
unthought known (for "bleacher bob")
angel
glorified g
you are
strangest tribe
fatal
marker in the sand

I cannot believe how good Jeremy sounded with Richard on drums from the Oakland show. Wow

Just a shame Ed was so out of gas by the time they got to Animal.

Why does Ed keep referencing Shohei Ohtani during the Oakland show? Does he think he plays for Oakland? Or was Oakland playing LAA that week or something?

Update: Joe Maddon was at the show.

Well, the rail-people have already heard those songs and definitely don't want you morlocks to.

Shit, they should pay Richard to come out every show and do throw your hatred down.

Ooo on the Oakland 2 bootleg, Stone uses an electric guitar for Crazy Mary, not the acoustic he's been using sine like 2003. However, it sounds like the tone or tuning is different from the 2000-era boots (I'm not a guitar person, so I'm not sure what the exact terminology is), which is my favorite way the song has sounded. It's a bit sloppy, but baby steps.

Is it weird to anyone else that Porch has become a song they play at every show?

It was played at all 7 shows this year so far, and all 26 shows in 2018. Alive and Even Flow were the only other songs played at all of those shows.

Not really. For years it seemed that either Porch or Rearviewmirror closed out the first set and/or first encore. It sits in a position of being a classic Pearl Jam song that anyone who has explored their live music, especially early on, have connected with, be it Unplugged or Atlanta ‘94 or Pinkpop ‘92 - synonymous with the 91/92 stage dives and climbing. It’s as essential to the Pearl Jam live experience as any other song.

I guess it was just sort of surprising how quickly it shot up when it comes to frequency played. I think I might be underestimating how iconic it is.

It's a little unusual. There have been a few tours where Porch is played at half or less of the concerts. And for almost all prior tours, it was played less frequently than Even Flow or Alive.

Part of it I am sure is a band decision on what they feel like playing on a given tour. This song was its own spectacle from 91-92 or so when Eddie would throw himself all over, climb the rafters, stage dive, etc. - it was still quite regular in their sets from 93-95 with the extended jams. It seemed to pop up a bit less in 96-98. But then it seemed it was played much more in 2000 but without the long extended jams. Since then, it seems to come in and out of rotation with changes here and there - and now there’s a jam but it doesn’t seem quite as long as the early versions but longer than 2000 when it was nearly played straight. It really would be fascinating to track all this somewhere to see the evolution of that song in concert. Probably the most change from tour to tour than any other songs I can think of, save for Even Flow.

it's like Richard Steveruedude played it at place where Eddie can actually sing it.

This is my bad, I actually meant Fresno, which is what I listened to today, which had Krusen on drums for Jeremy. But not complaints about Stuverud.

Krusen's playing on it in Fresno is fantastic too!
