Albany 06 was a real fun show.
I listened to the first hour of Randall’s Island 2 from ‘96 last night and forgot just how much the band was trying to get the crowd to calm down in that first hour. Nearly between every song starting with Animal. They were also moshing during Who You Are. Ludicrous.

Newcastle 2006. It has the best Masters of War I've ever heard, so I decided to listen to the whole boot again. It's got a great setlist. They open with Alive which is weird but cool and different. Matt Cameron is REALLY on his game this show or maybe I just haven't listened to enough 2006 boots lately because I always remember them being good, but they sound really great here. A ton of energy all around

Ann Arbor, 3/20/94. Probably my favorite show from this year, and one of a handful of PJ audience tapes I can still muster the patience for -- considerable crowd presence, but a lot of clarity and detail. Maybe the best "Breath" ever.

Temporarily putting my above post aside, I listened to a bit of this year’s Rome boot this morning and was pleasantly surprised to hear Stone playing electric on what was already a very good version of Immortality.

I didn't realize they had done "Strangest Tribe" electric at Fenway a few years ago till I stumbled across the video on Youtube a few weeks ago. Pretty sweet.

I just realised I only have four shows from 2006 and three of those are the Melbourne run and San Diego whcih I downloaded last night . What should I seek out next? Albany?

Albany is good, also (from the 2006 tour thread):

I also like (off the top of my head) Hartford, Camden II, LA II, and particularly San Francisco III, which I remember being superb. IIRC, Stone stated to a fan that it was one of the band’s best ever shows.

At the risk of being the guy who insists the shows he was at really were the best shows, the two Adelaide shows really are excellent performances with great setlists.

To add to my positive report concerning this show, Ed mercifully forgets, or decides against, the call and response section of Do the Evolution and just barrels straight through (and in relatively strong voice too, I might add). Very good.

I'm listening to Adelaide I. That's a hearty level of crowd participation with the Small Town opener
