I think even the Hyde Park Calling gig was quite a bit cheaper and that had Gaslight Anthem, Hives, Ben Harper, etc on the bill. Definitely shot themselves in the foot with this gig.

This whole thing is starting to perplex me now - I can't believe this, but I've just looked into Neil young and crazy horse tickets, and Neil fucking Young is even charging less for tickets than pearl jam...and that show features about 20 bands, and Neil holds a lot more sand in England than Pearl Jam. It's also in the much less shit Hyde Park. Through ticketmaster, Neil young with full support over three stages is £66.60. Pearl jam with only shitty old BRMC and nobody else is £72.75 - What the fuck are they doing!?! Unbelievable.
I think my brain is going to melt - this should be on the news as the most bleakly comical and stupid gig of the year.

Things that could make the MK gig worth the cash:
1. A guest appearance by Uncle Neil (he's in the UK that week) 2. A guest appearance by Cornell (Soundgarden are in the UK that week) 3. An extended PJ set like those on the US tour 4. PJ unveil their brave new direction, debuting a 20 minute Jazz Odyssey 5. Jeff storms off stage in a temper tantrum 6. PJ welcome Ricky Ramone back into the fold 7. Eddie fires Ricky Ramone for bringing him the wrong vintage chateauneuf du pape on stage

8. They thought they booked the band BRMC, but they accidentally booked a real Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. This leads to Mike McCready playing a 45 minute guitar solo while the rest of Pearl Jam and their crew engage in a knife fight on stage against the motorcycle club. Last person standing wins.

Although Soundgarden are in the UK for the Sabbath Hyde Park gig the weekend before, it's looking like they're back in North America again for a date in Quebec on the 12th July so I don't think the Cornell contributions are gonna happen I'm afraid!
Uncle Neil is in town tho - he's playing Hyde Park on the 12th, so if you're hoping for a special guest, it might be him.
Hope you enjoy the gig! Fingers crossed the weather is good.

BTW as soon as anybody has any info re stage times, it'd be much appreciated if you could post them.
I think doors are 1400 and first band at 1600, but it'd be nice to know precisely when PJ are due to start - especially as they're supposed to be doing an 'evening with' set, so will probably start earlier than usual.

Swap this ticket for a Leeds ticket. Immediately. This is gonna be probably the worst pj show of all time. Don't go. Seriously.
Well, the tickets are vastly over-priced, the venue is shite, and it will be far from sold out. But I think if it's going to rank amongst the worst-ever PJ shows we're going to also need some combination of a super poor performance from the band, issues with the sound quality and horrendous storms as well.
All of which aren't beyond the realms of possibility, of course, but I don't think it's time to burn the tickets quite yet.
