Was the first show actually that bad? I just watched a few videos on youtube and they all seemed pretty solid. Really enjoyed the version of sleeping by myself in particular.

Evacuation from last night - it's down-tuned worse than it was at the Spectrum 2009.
Warning: Ed's intro to the song is the most listenable bit of this video...

Sounded fine to me. I wish I was there. I still love this band.

It sounds to me, without grabbing a guitar to check, as though it's a half-step lower than the recorded version; the same as its 2008 and 2009 appearances.

It's hard to hear what Mike and Stone are doing from that recording but, generally speaking, I think it actually sounds very respectable!

Yea, this doesn't sound bad.

It's hard to imagine I got All or None at my 20th Pearl Jam show. :)

But anyway, as for the two shows: it was very rough, very very rough. First night Eddie got very drunk. Lyrical mistakes: you can't even count them. I had fun, I'm happy I've been to the shows, but two years ago the two Amsterdam shows were "light years" better.

The first night featured a dead crowd, an incoherent setlist, and an Ed stumbling across the stage and clearly in quite some pain and also frustrated with the lack of energy coming back from the crowd. This was also the only night that had an early entrance for 10C members. It seems there were more 10C tickets reserved this time. While we were going in at around 6:15 there was still a long line for the 10C tickets booths. I think a lot of them probably went in with the non 10C crowd. There was no special front section, only a barrier dividing a quarter of the floor with the rest. Despite all that I didn't think it was a bad show. I enjoyed the sitting down part after they came back the first time. It was sort of expected seeing the state Ed was in physically. I think he was high as well. A lot of his ramblings didn't really have a clue. ;) But then I had no comparison with the second night. I already had a feeling it was going to be a lot wilder songwise.

We queued at around 17:00 and it seemed the people in line where already more cheerful and excited than the day before. There was no stress picking up 10C tickets and we joked around about 10C tickets only making things more stressful and silly. We found a good spot on Stone's side and waited for the show to start. When they opened with a great version of Hard To Imagine, you knew things were going to be way better than the first night. And boy, how it did. The band seemed ready to play every song the best they could, and the energy in the crowd was palpable and Ed seemed in much better condition with his leg and far more cheery. That whole first set was so good and only build and build and ending with a truly wonderful version of Better Man. I choked up during Severed Hand, just because I realised what a great song that is, especially live, and that everything felt so much in sync with everything than night one. Rain was a lovely surpise and well played too. The encore started with Just Breathe but despite the predicatibilty of the placing of that song in the set, it worked really well as a foundation to build on with the songs that followed, starting with All Or None and continuing with PF's Mother. Daughter was greeted with so much enthousiasm like it was a complete new hit song. It ended with the tag ABITWII and Ed ad-libbing the lines "People leave your guns at home/Bury your fucking guns in a hole!". It only got even better with the run of My Father's Son, SOLAT, Alive, Black, Blood and RITFW. And ending naturally with YL. I don't think I ever saw the band so happy at the end of a show. They were literally beaming. I think it might even have rivalled the second Amsterdam show from 2 years ago, quality wise. Great, great night with a lot of beautiful people. RIP PJ? Long Live PJ!

I tried to find some good videos but of course it still is early in the day but here are some from last night:

Funny how people all perceive things differently based on personal experiences/preferences. If Given to Fly had been in the second show, I might have agreed. :)
I was a couple metres behind you the first night. A little too far to shout.

We seem to miss each other always during shows. ;) I think the last time I actually met you was in 2006? Are you going to any other shows on this tour? We're going to Vienna and Berlin next week.

I forgot to add that Leatherman, Yellow Moon and Baba were on the setlist but were scratched. I believe Yellow Moon followed All Or None. I was hoping to hear this song live for the first time, but oh well. Baba was replaced with RITFW.
