Not to be a debbie downer, but I was at last night's show in San Diego and it was...bad. Now to be fair, I haven't been into Pearl Jam in years and the last Pearl Jam show I saw was ~8 years ago. But, I took my wife who loves music (and she went to that PJ show w/ me and had a good enough time), and we left early. Eddie just sounded terrible. Timeless Melody used to be one of my favorite cover songs. It was unrecognizable. Yes, the band was having lots of fun and it was great to see, but the new album is lame and the lead singer sounded bad. Hard to make up for that.
that sucks. EV's sounded good from the vid's i've seen and most of the reviews have seemed positive.
I mean, Pearl Jam fans, especially at the Pit, have been batshit crazy for decades. I dunno what to say besides ok?
Glad people had a good time. I mean no disrespect. I was just shocked at how uninterested I was. I was so excited for Timeless Melody.

i dont read the pit. i mean the people who post here and all of the articles i've read have had tons of positive things to say. i've only heard a couple of covers, but they sounded good to me. bringing back the jam in porch from the early 90s was awesome. it sounds like you dont like pearl jam too much anymore.

-haven't liked PJ in years -haven't felt the need to see them live in years -don't like the new Ed album
And you were you surprised you didn't like the show?

Huh? I was only commenting on San Diego. Maybe his voice was off? I wasn't really commenting on the setlist. I knew it when I was going in. But I didn't know how the new songs would sound live.

I was. My dislike wasn't due to me not liking Ed's voice or his solo shows. I loved seeing him do the Into The Wild stuff on that tour. I just hate the PJ output the last 15 years. And the live shows seem like some sort of cover band nostalgia thing that's hilarious to me.
My wife had *none* of these biases and wanted to leave, too.

Itd be weird after 30 years of you hadn’t grown up and your path diverged from this band or anything. Ignore these assholes G2T. You’re dead right and they’re just all weird.

G2t. Has violently opposed Pj for at least 16 years now. It’s fine. For a few years after 2006 he was aggressively anti PJ. He went away for a number of years. didn’t expect him to give two shits about this album or shows. Totally fine.
But this whole “oh I’ve seen them 80 times…”
Come on. Fuck off. You’re over them and done. I’m glad you came in and said it wasn’t your thing. Totally fine. But I fucking hate when people try to come in and convince others they’re are some how inferior and shouldn’t like this shit.

So over that.
Glad you still suffer reading comprehension problems. I was told my opinion *didn't* matter cause I wasn't a big enough fan or something. Only positive reviews are allowed, Strat.
