did ed sing any part of purple rain?

No, unfortunately not. It was really just one big goof off. Fun though.

Was weird seeing someone else solo on porch!

But yea, felt like watching Ed jam in a garage with world class musicians. Awesome.

Sounds like a really cool set. I'm really starting to get the itch to see Pearl Jam again. I think it's been 7 years for me.

that show was a real pleasant surprise and a lot of fun. nice to hear different takes on the pearl jam material (long road and porch were reeeal good, the reworked corduroy seemed a bit clunky but i like the idea), the new stuff was done well if not much different than the album, and olivia more than held her own at center stage performing her bit. you could tell ed was a proud papa. and i’m glad ed had the wits about him to skip betterman and give us the other covers to close instead. the part of purple rain we did get was real enjoyable and a nice way to close it out despite not being able to fit in the whole song. i am genuine in saying i’d really like to see more of this band play together. hopefully tonight.

also, my morning jacket continue to be one of the best live bands around.

Can Ed convince Chad Smith to play for Pearl Jam too?

Best Porch has sounded in years. Some groove!

That Porch jam is so good it's ruined all other Porch jams for me.

Pino! What a rhythm section

great version of Long Road, too.

The live version of "Drive" sounds substantially better than the studio soundtrack take.

Long Road sounds great as well. Really liked Chad’s drumming on it.

it seems like these new collaborations have EV feeling creative. he's mentioned he's written a lot recently, and you can see where his inspiration comes from with this band.
