The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
Best version of that cover too! I like the quiet loud delivery over the full sap version they did that year in Las Vegas. There’s just a fun quality to it at this show.
on Nashville today. it might just be all the coffee running through my veins this morning, but the start to this: Sometimes thru Red Mosquito--wooo boy-- .

I wonder if they chose to play just two hours or it was some kind of restriction....
I think when you look at the length of the shows, 2003 is when they really started to get longer on a regular basis pushing closer to 2.5 hours. Some a bit more and some a bit less. When they stopped using opening bands in 2013, the sets expanded further to closer to 3 hours and have consistently been close to that since. I don’t take it as anything but they have an extreme appreciation for their fans and want to put on a show that appeals to everyone - the hardcore fan and those that are seeing them for the first time.
Hell, back in 1996 we were gushing after the show cause goddamn they played CORDUROY!!
I digress. The point being I think they have just inches closer to deciding that the best way to appease fans there for the hits and fans there to hear loosely practiced out of the box rarities was to simply play both and make the shows longer.
Of The Girl is a great great opener. I love that guitar...sounds like a fucking sitar..is that Stone right? This one is a song they really knew how to translate live...
Insignificance after Corduroy! Not sure if like this early.
I enjoy Insignificance live quite a bit, so I'll take it whenever.
I also really dig the ~2 hour set. I got through Memphis today and there was enough meaty songs along with the Elvis nod and some new [at the time] material to just work all the way through.

I don't think so, he was just in spaceland quite a few times. I need to look back but towards the end of the set the entire band cannot get on the same page to start a song so perhaps it's the drain of two weeks touring.

A day off and they almost sound like a different band with spot on performances, Ed sounds rested and fantastic. A solo The Kids Are Alright is a real treat here.

agreed, although i started that one the other day, and only got a few songs in. I do remember that show being solid.

Even Flow sounds different here...Its Ed i guess, he is holding himself...Again, most of the muscular songs from Ten are played differently on this tour. Mike's guitar is fucking amazing and Stone is super loud in the mix, i love it.
rvm is great but rvm is always great....but the jam middle part is specially awesome in this tour. Again, im thinking its because Sonic Youth was touring with them.
