I don’t think they’re done forever…But I think we’re looking at 5-10 years until Ed comes to terms with his growing limitations and we get an album of music that reflects that.

ed should give up on screaming and higher registers, and adopt a crooner style.

John Prine had throat cancer and returned with a beautiful gravelly baritone. Ed can do it.

Lol. No. Never. But this isn’t just about a forest fire. One astute RMer suggested there may be some lingering Covid issues too. Whatever the case, I do believe he’s reckoning with something that will take quite a bit more effort to curb than a few days of downtime.

Maybe his voice just hates Europe? This happened in 2018 too for a show or two. Difference was they had a week off before their next show.

I went to Pistoia in 2018 and he sounded amazing. He was even better this year, so if they get around to play tomorrow, im sure ill be a great show.

I was, of course, joking. To your point, he made a comment during one of the U.S. shows that he had COVID pretty bad--I know from some cases I've seen at work that there are people who got infected in 2020 who still have long-COVID, so Ed might be in tbat cohort.

Same, but traveling to see a show might be a thing of the past. Going to St. Louis is not like going to Prague or Vienna or Amsterdam. If I get there and the show is cancelled, it’s a total loss. Fuck the Arch.

St Louis isn't bad. They've got a good zoo and the Budweiser brewery tour was surprisingly good.

They stole our Sonics and their zoo killed our elephants. Look it up.

PJ 2022 US Tour Leg 2 - a cunning ruse to increase visits to zoos.

Man, this really sucks.

They should've pulled the pin on these shows days ago, not cancelled at the last moment.

And even now, leaving the possibility of a show tomorrow night - what kind of shape will Ed be in to perform?
