this has probably been done before, but what are some of your show stats? I went through all mine and here are the somewhat interesting ones to me
I've been to 14 shows, all since 2000
I've gotten 132 different songs
I've gotten every song from vs, and all but the red dot from yield
I've gotten both DTE and evenflow at 13 of the 14 shows, DTE at 13 straight shows.
The only songs Im missing from the 9 studio albums are, oceans, immortality, bugs, pry to, aye davinita, mankind(though i heard it in a sound check), around the bend, red dot, gods dice, rival, sleight of hand, parting ways, ghost, get right, bushleaguer, arc, all or none, big wave, gonna see my friend, johnny guitar, supersonic, speed of sound, and force of nature.
I might add more in a bit

immortality is the one that i am still the most surprised that i havent heard yet, it usually gets played a few times each tour, and i even made it to 3 straight shows in 08 and 4 out of 5 that year, i also thought i was sure to get gods dice in that string of shows, the rest are all pretty rare these days it seems like so im not that worried about getting them, but if my next show opens with Oceans and the play immortality somewhere during the show, then i wont care what else they play that night, i will be happy. i am also a bit disappointing to still be missing gonna see my friend, supersonic, speed of sound and force of nature because i was at 3 shows on that tour, and back to back shows in dublin and belfast and at those 2 shows they played the same songs from backspacer those nights

I have an excel sheet on my home laptop that has my breakdown. I've been to 38 full Pearl Jam shows, seven Ed solo and six short sets. I know Even Flow, Betterman, Corduroy, Do the Evolution and Small Town are all in the 30s with songs like Alive, Yellow Ledbetter, Given to Fly, Daughter, Black, Wishlist and Porch not that far behind.
The only studio cuts I'm missing live (I think) are Tremor Christ, Pilate, Push Me Pull Me, Help Help, Parachutes, Marker in the Sand and Force of Nature. I know there's some Lost Dogs that's been played I've missed but I'd have to pull those up to see.
I know others have said it too but I still miss the old concert stat search function that used to be here.

So strange to me that crossing songs off from some silly checklist could be more important than being part of an engaging, powerful musical experience.

You can do both. Live in the moment and then after the fact go through and see what was played and where the songs fit into your list.

I guess it's the second part of the statement that struck me as weird. "I don't care what else they play. I will be happy."

i havent been to a PJ show that wasnt a a powerful engaging musical experience, so that part of a PJ show is a given, so im gonna love every minute of my next one, but getting songs i really want to get will just be icing on the cake, and hearing the beginning of immortality live will be yet another PJ show experience that will probably bring a bit of a tear to my eye, the emotions some of their songs bring out live are crazy

doesnt the "i dont care what else they play, i will be happy" part go more along with just being part of the moment? or were you thinking i was saying that i will be happy if all the bands equipment fails, or they are all fall down drunk and cant play so the show is terrible but if in that terrible show they play those 2 songs then ill be happy? like i kinda said in my first reply, at this point in time i know the band wont be bad unless there is some kinda equipment problem, and all 14 of my shows have been very emotional experience and i cherish each one, but eventually i would like to have heard every song live in person if at all possible, so it is just icing on the cake when i do get songs i havent heard before

Bless you, Doc, I think you're the kind of fan I am physically incapable of being. And you're probably an all-around happier person for it.

Doc is definitely happier than you. At least there's more joy in your life than Spenno's. Maybe hang your hat on that and call it a day?

I promise I'll do this. Just not tonight.

Well, here's one stat: I've only been to seven shows since 1998.
