Absolutely loving the shorter sets with no covers. I don’t need to hear crowds carry the last 4 songs bc Ed can’t sing more than 3 words in a row at that point
It’s kinda cool to see parents bringing their kids to a PJ show and some kids are super into it. Not the girl (10?) next to me. She was playing Candy Crush the whole time and I think it really distracted her dad from trying to enjoy the show.
This sounds like a problem with the dad, not the kid.
Introducing a song … said Krusen was in the house and recalled doing 38 takes before getting it right when recording … Even Flow.
Kinda surprised they didn’t have him play it honestly.
Trag I want to agree with you but do they EVER give the guy any credit for anything ever?
They said he was a great drummer at the induction ceremony.
Have you seen Dave A post on facebook? Guys is very pathetic.
They seem pretty friendly with everyone who was in the band, except for Abbruzzese.
It makes me wonder whether there really is more to that story, e.g. whether he was a real jerk to the band's management/employees in post-firing communications, etc.
Then again, he seems on great terms with several Pearl Jam adjacent folks: Shawn Smith, the guy who's playing bass with Painted Shield (it's slipping my mind), many of the old Pearl Jam crew members etc.
For a drummer who was in a huge band and still seems to have fans, he really hasn't done much with that recognition. I'm surprised he's not out giving drum clinics, making YouTube videos, angling for gigs as a session drummer on higher profile stuff. Maybe he tried that and couldn't make it happen, or maybe he simply isn't interested in pursuing that kind of career.

Two shows in a row, no covers!
I'm really digging this setlist length, reminds me of the 1998/2000 shows. Very good. Hope they stick around.
I have to disagree. I’ll get killed for this but these short shows sets are a joke. If they are playing 23 songs. With 6-7 songs each night coming from the new album. They are only playing 13 -15 songs across their previous albums including b-sides. It’s not 1998 anymore. It’s the shrinkflation tour.

i dunno man, these last five shows (i’m including ohana) have pretty much been all killer, no filler. and no overdone covers! i’m all for these shows the way the’ve been. those marathon shows, and i saw a lot of them, were often times a slog once you got to the back half. these low-to-mid twenty song sets really do feel like the sweet spot for keeping both band and crowd energy up while still giving enough variety for every type of fan to appreciate.
