And you know, Given To Fly... seen it 30 times live or something like that. Still by far my favourite song, still the song I reach out to. But last night, this was my first PJ show since the pandemic, with my wife being a doctor, this was an incredibly rough couple of years... I'm so so so glad it was played. Was almost the goosebumps feeling of the first time again. "He still stands"
It's always the context for me.

Same actually for Alive & Jeremy. This was the first night of this festival after having been cancelled twice. There was a collective euphoric feeling on that festival terrain during Alive & Jeremy I had the impression.

yeah, i agree with that and had the exact same feeling...i was so happy to hear Jeremy, god what a beast. Given To Fly was also a highlight.

Hell, even Rockin in the free world! i havent engaged in these songs like these in a while.

The pandemic of course is still behind all these feelings, but also the fact that the band sounded impeccable. Very tight, great guitar tones, Ed was on fire....they have so much energy is insane.

Agree with the energy of the band. You can clearly see they have gotten older the past couple of years, but if a shorter show means a 2h fully focussed set, I'll gladly take it.

(And that's coming from someone who was really disappointed when I noticed the shorter setlists)

Now please play Seven O'Clock in Amsterdam. All I'm asking really. :)

Also Beck was really fun. I finally got to see Haim, and they delivered. Awesome show too. Super talented.

Fountaines DC was boring as hell, only saw two songs. First Aid Kit was kinda boring. The War On Drugs was cool, everyone was dancing along.

Pretty much all of these guys talked about how cool was for them to share the stage with PJ. The singer on WOD also talked about taping their snl or letterman performances to obsess with whatever gear stone and mike used.

Super nice.

i think at this point seeing pearl jam sing 'happy birthday' live would give me goosebumps lol. i think the set is pretty much what you would expect at a festival w/ the shorter sets now. opening with 'rain' is awesome, i love hearing eddie sing that song. 'long road' at the back of the main set is cool, too.

yeah, Rain was super unexpected but the band sounded so fucking good. Jeff had a killer night. Mike was on fire too.

They were eager to win the audience, and i cant believe these guys are in their 60s and have this energy still.

For the non-casual fan, is this the worst Pearl Jam setlist of all time?

- Only 20 songs, less than 2 hours on stage
- 15% of set covers
- 85% of set from 1998 or earlier
- Only 2 songs from touring album
- Nothing remotely considered even a semi-rarity
- That encoreā€¦

more like 'best ever':

- 85% of set from 1998 or earlier
- Only 2 songs from touring album

Even Flow sounds so good...yeah, the intro is played at the right tempo and it has that punch again.
