While I like a lot of versions from the 2000 tour, I really didn't care for Matt's drumming. He forgot to do some of the things that make the song so great (like the part after "I'm trading stories with the leaves instead").

Around 2009 I think, it's as if he went back and listened to No Code and as a result started drumming more in lines with how the album version is.

I liked it. I can't quite explain why either. Maybe it was the immediate impression it left on me at the MSG 1 show that year. I had no idea what song it was when Ed launched into it. Really caught me by surprise.
