I think it would be cool for the band to just not play a live staple (Alive, Betterman, Even Flow, Porch, etc.) for a leg of a tour. Mix it up.

They should do a backwards show like the backwards Seinfeld episode.

Less party PJ, more serious PJ.
Less covers.

Stone should play in blackface, and no one should mention it.

They need to play the big songs. Some people come to the shows only knowing those big songs. It would alienate a large portion of the crowd if they didn't get the songs they like. Some people go for Even Flow, Black, Alive, Jeremy. Its why they play them so much.

But I think it'd be nice if the band would mix up where songs come in the setlist, especially mix up the Encore 2, add some new covers to the mix, and stop playing the same old ones over and over ESPECIALLY at the end of the show (No more Baba O Riley or Rockin in the Free World in Encore 2 please or at least barely <_<).

I think it's really strange how frequently Pearl Jam ends shows with a song that they didn't even write.

Also I agree on more interesting lights/video.

Also play Even Flow at the original tempo and it also doesn't need an extended jam every single time

I admit at the outset that I thoroughly have enjoyed every Pearl Jam concert I attended so I am posting with that in mind:

3) If no opening band, please start the show earlier or bring back the opening band. Not so much a nod to the Fenway folks, but if you started the show at 9:00 with the opening band at 8:00, then you play an evening with... and start playing at 9:00, what’s the point for the fans?

I think they intend on going on earlier, and the building never fills fast enough. This was a problem at all six ballpark shows this year. Tons of social media urging people to be in seats ASAP, it didn't work.

Easy solution: just start playing. If they warn on social media and no one comes on time, just start playing. Given the way word travels by internet these days, by the third show everyone will be in the building before 8:00.

This isn't true. And not only that it's a problem the band creates for itself.

At Fenway 1 there were tons of social media posts begging to be in your seats by 6:30, so they could start on time. Fenway even tweeted to be there early because the band would be going on stage at 6:30. The arena did fill up quickly. They ended up going on stage at 8:00 PM, 90 minutes later, despite the 10:30 curfew.

Now, let me ask you, what do you think will happen next time the band asks people to be there early?

My point is that if the band wants people to come early, yet it is announced on twitter to come early, people do, and end up waiting in their chairs for 2 hours (if they got there at like 6, let's say, for the 6:30 showtime), then the next time PJ is in town, it doesnt matter what they say, they aren't coming early.

If Pearl Jam wants the arena filled they have to stop CONSISTENTLY starting like an hour late. If they started on time people would BE on time. When for years they repeatedly come late, people will come late.

For the record I went to see Elton John last weekend, the ticket said he'd start at 8, and he started at 8.

Pearl Jam has TRAINED their audience not to come on time
