Even though they messed up this version of Daughter pretty badly, I hope they keep playing it like this. I just love how Stone's playing it on an actual acoustic.

What an interesting, bizarre, and great setlist. The order of the songs at times seem really odd, but I would be stoked to see that setlist live.

I'm surprised to hear you say that. 6 songs from No Code and Yield (including Smile and Brain of JFK in the 2nd encore!) Sad, Alone, PT opener, reworked Corduory (which sounds awesome!), Parachutes, MOTH and Indifference closer. That looks like a band who is willing to take some chances, which for a 1st night show is about as good as I can hope for.

I apologize if this video has been posted already, but WOW! When the fuck did Eddie Vedder come back?!?! I haven't seen him be this genuinely into a song in YEARS. And finally he has written a new melody that he can actually sing. I fuckin love it!

*Goddammit I don't know how to use the YouTube embed code.

This is why the YouTube code worked better when all you used was the video ID. Depending on how you get to the video on YouTube the URL changes.

You should bring this up with B in Charlotte.

Thank you for posting the links. I got an involuntary chuckle out of the guy around 4:24 of the Daughter video. As Ed moves to the outro you hear a guy yell, "Woo hoo! This is what we've been waiting for buddy!!!"

I've been there

Yeah, they've been playing it that way at least as far back as Lost Dogs.

Well the "Lost Dogs" version is like that. Do you listen to "Lost Dogs"?

Back home.
Smallish, stuffy arena but the place was packed to the rafters and then some. I corner seat up on Mike's side. They went on stage a little after 8pm. As it being the first show in a while I didn't what to expect but they were in mid-tour form. A few minor flubs but over all strongly played. Liked the tweaked Corduroy but I was growing tired of Daughter and really liked the accoustic Stone early on. Could the London Calling intro be one of the "new" songs from the soundcheck list? You could tell they had that swtich to Corduroy well rehearsed. Mind Your Manners delivered well; I had expressed concern how well Ed could perform live but he more than impressed. I think it helped that it was early in the set and he sang it in a manner I thought similiar to Lukin's verses. I can scratch 'Parachutes' off my never seen list, that song has really grown on me since Pearl Jam's release and that was a nice surpise with the nearly retired Man of Hour. I had hoped for All or None or Parting Ways during the seated portion of the first encore but that was too much to ask. But with Sad, Alone, In Hiding and Brain of J getting the dust blown off it I can't complain. But I like Just Breathe & Unthought Known so what do I know?
I flew into Buffalo and made a side trip to Niagara Falls. It was hot (upper 90s) but not super crowded. I got to London around 4pm. Checked in to the Country Inn & Suites across from the hospital and took a quickie nap before heading to venue. I picked up my ticket from the window just after five. This turned to be a smart move, the line was way backed up just 45 minutes later. No post-concert drinks for me, I went back to the hotel and went to bed. Got up and headed back to the Buffalo airport after breakfast this morning. It's close to a three hour drive including customs. I'm pretty beat tonight; I can see an early bedtime coming.
It was a long way to go and a quick turnaround for one show but no regrets at all; I'd see Pearl Jam play again tonight if I could.

Secret show this Friday at Wrigley Field!

Glad you enjoyed it, I certainly did. Have yet to hear anything negative about it.

There are two recordings. Ten era and Vs Era. The Vs era version is on the "Go" CD single. The Ten era version has been bootlegged. Both have the full 2nd verse. The "Lost Dogs" version is an edit of the Ten era version with new vocals. This is the version they're playing live now.

Wow, I really dig this new arrangement of Daughter.

Hopefully they'll attempt it again and Vedder won't fuck it up!

It sounded pretty cool, but was the fuck up just ed getting lost and pretty much starting over again?

Eddie shouldn't have tossed the lyric sheet into the crowd, since he messes up the words right after doing so. :haha:

He sounds really great regardless.

I concur. That would be a very good night. Sure there's a lot of the regulars but it's mixed up and looks a great paced set.
