Ed's fingerpicking style is very good. There are also some unique elements to his guitar style, as with all guitarists. He has also written some of my favorite PJ songs, but to say he's better than Stone is just wrong. . .

I bet if you asked 100 people over at the Pit who is the better player, and mjd wasn't one of them, you would get 100 that say Stone. Probably here, too.

I'm not going to wade through 6 pages of typical Red Mosquito "why do you post here, your opinion is shit" BUT... I recall just a few years ago Mike saying in an interview, that Ed probably is the best overall guitar player in the band now. I believe Mike brought up some of the stuff off Eds solo album. Being able to pick that and sing at the same time.

Yeah but being able to pick and sing at the same time doesn't make him a better guitar player. That was just Mike placating Ed. Mike knows he is the guitar god of the group.

Well lets say this, whenever Ed plays guitar on a song live, its usually a highlight. He always adds something to it that I dont think Stone would do. Even the opening riff of Corduroy played with his energy
