Even the videos you post as proof are off, because they show all three guitars playing at the same time. Sure there will be great performances and some off from everyone in the band (esp. Ed on guitar), after hundreds of shows, but if you want to see the difference then Ed solo should be better as proof.
You do seem as if you have come to a final conclusion already. But I think you should reconsider.

He CAN play Do the Evolution and Brain of J well. Its whenever it gets slightly campfirey that he is horrendous. But honestly hearing Eddie on Sometimes and Corduroy I wonder if Eddie could do a better job on their other songs too if he tried.
Oh man, seeing Eddie play Do The Evolution would be amazing (and again, I like his guitar playing).

Stone has a groove and natural way of playing that Ed can't even begin to touch.
Guitar work is more than just playing every note at the exact right spot every time you play it.
I feel the opposite, Eddie is a little sloppy occasionally but the FEEL is good, Stone plays the right notes in a heavy clunky fashion which ruins the feel of the song even if the notes are right.
Id take Eddie's occasional note sloppiness over Stone's rhythmic sloppiness
You must be listening to different shows than me.
Ed screws up because he struggles to keep up sometimes.
Stone's just trying to inject a groove into a song.

Its possible Eddie wasn't always this good but his playing on that Moline show was just so good on Around the bend, off he goes, and sometimes and Ive also noticed his corduroy has been flawless and much faster than it used to be.

stone is by far the best all around guitarist in the band. this thread is ridiculous.
the main riff from corduroy is basically 2 notes and ed still fucks it up half the time.
Its not about the notes its about the RHYTHM Eddie plays them aggressively and rhythmically which Stone has trouble with. Yes its two notes, but it doesnt matter because he plays those two notes WELL with a punchy rhythm stone just CANT do.
Stone is a good album guitarist but a BAD live guitarist, Mike is very good MOSTLY Jeff is awesome and Eddie is surprisingly great when he picks up the guitar.
Im literally listening to live corduroys and kind of blown away how good Eddie plays the main riff near the end. Yes its simple but he makes it stand out because of HOW he plays it Ive never had that from Stone that he's killing a simple riff and making it amazing.

Hes good MOST of the time, but there are some things he cant recreate live. Yellow Ledbetter often sounds sloppy and distorted and in general much better on the album than the live version. I think Ive grown used to this over time but I know my first reaction on hearing it live was WTF happened this is awful.

Ledbetter? Wait. What? You know he doesnt play the main guitar in that, right? and im pretty certain there is only one guitar on the studio recording.
