In case you were wondering:

This show was originally broadcast by Monkeywrench Radio and widely bootlegged. We've taken the original multi-track tapes and mixed and mastered the show for vinyl. Not all of the songs exist on multi-track tape, so we're including digital versions of the "missing tracks" from the original broadcast.

I still don't understand this:

Limit 1 per order. No quantity limit.

They want you to pay for shipping for each copy

It has to do with packing and shipping, I think. These things come in a box that's basically a tank compared to standard LP mailers, so it'd probably be impossible to combine shipping if you wanted to order multiples at the same time (S+H is pricey at $14, but it basically guarantees that it'll arrive in mint condition).

Apparently, according to some posts on the Pit, shipping to Canada is something like $45. That seems...a bit much.

Are they releasing it on CD?

Fuck this. Releasing an incomplete recording of a widely circulated complete soundboard. Piss poor choice. Disappointed.

to the people who know way more about boots and recordings...

is the "not all songs exist on multi-track" a legit thing? why would they not have all of them if they have the majority of the show? or, is that just an excuse to save money and not print a 4xLP set, and just tag that would-be last LP on as a digital download?

I would assume a 4th LP would make this a bit more expensive... a 4th record, bigger packaging, bigger shipping packaging, more postage, etc.

the worst part is that the entire concert isn't even on vinyl. WTF.

I can't imagine they would have the ability to put those songs on the vinyl and would just refuse to based on a business decision. They're made to order, so it's not like you'll be stuck with a surplus if it's less popular.

They might, however, be simplifying or fudging what the real problem is. Maybe an intern left one of the tapes on the stove after making his Kraft dinner.

if you do not have the full show, then release a different show.

Full disclosure. I bought it. First vinyl vault purchase for me.

I know, chud's gonna be pissed b/c I'm encouraging sub-par Pearl Jam releases, but y'know, fuck it, I wanted it.

I think chud will probably be more excited about the newly mixed multitracks than he will be disappointed in the incompleteness. That's where I'm sitting, anyways.

I'll definitely buy it but I'll definitely bitch that the best part of the show is not there.

This is the first vault release I'd feel compelled to buy -- the initial email made my heart beat faster -- but the incomplete show aspect is so bogus. I don't even care if the tracks are digital, just include them on the vinyl!

So releasing something that is already out there, is it laziness or does the band but want us to have something "new" for some reason?
