Do any of you think PJ are capable of making an album like the Vitalogy one again?
That's all I'd ask for before I die, really.
One more Pearl Jam album on the level of Vitalogy. Angry punkish numbers; kickass riffs by Stone; hallucinogenic interludes and a completely nut-loose closer; a moody half ballad discussing the cost of endless life - you know, Vitalogy.
Do you?
Do they?

Perhaps you will rise from the ashes and regain agency once more.

In a word, NO.

But, to put it in the parlance of a Neil Young, there's no reason why they couldn't pull off something akin to Le Noise. A late period, interesting detour that uses all the skills they have at their disposal right now.

I never really dug Neil Young. I don't know, he's always reminded my of someone's dad playing at a school talent show.

Considering the fact that Vitalogy is PJ's best album and they haven't made anything even arguably close to that good since RA (I'd say since Binaural), the easy and correct answer is FUCK NO.

I think the OP forgot that Dave A. was fired.

If Brendan obrien recorded this now.

It would be 11 tracks.

Last exit would just start with the opening riff
Corduroy outro would be faded out
Etc....

The Corduroy outro fades out already, you know :)

I certainly think pearl jam has a great album left in them. Vitalogy great, I doubt it. Eddie physically can't sing the way he used to even if everything was in place

"Great" is a quality comparison, though, not a sonic one. An album as great as Vitalogy made today wouldn't have to sound anything like that record, it would just be a matter of playing to their strengths now the same way they played to their strengths then.

There's no reason Ed couldn't find compelling ways to use what his instrument is now, rather than croak out low notes and fall flat on high ones. They'd just have to find a new sonic approach that serves whatever he replaces it with, and that takes commitment, risk, and confidence in your audience...three things I believe they lack entirely.
