I forgot that this thread doesn't mean "songs that can't hold up to their intros". I don't know what's considered the best Unthought Known part.

I love Pilate, but think that the intro in particular falls flat live. Grievance is another example where pulling it off live is a real challenge because the studio version is so strong.

I'm not sure I understand the thread premise, but the outro jam on Big Wave trounces the rest of the song.

Every single PJ song have a, to say the least, really good part.

I think he means songs that mostly suck except for one part.

For me it is Severed Hand - the intro kicks massive arse and it builds to a climax and then….a really shitty riff. So disappointing

The bridges for Supersonic and Let the Records Play are the first that come to mind...
Also, I always really liked the solo/bridge of Amongst the Waves better than the rest of the song
Plus, the outro to Getaway is far and away the best part of that song

I'm just curious, for those that said Infallible... which part of that song is clearly heads above the rest?
I'm in the "Infallible is an all-around solid song" camp so it seems like you either like it or you don't it, not so much "there's one really cool part to that song"

Actually, this is easier than I thought... deep dive here:

1. Getaway - Outro :bammer: Rest of song :z:
2. Let the Records Play - Bridge + Stone's Guitar Intro :bammer: Rest of song :shake:
3. The Fixer - Chorus 8-) Rest of song

6. Force of Nature - Bridge :bammer: Rest of song :-?
7. Big Wave - Outro :bammer: Rest of song :-|
8. Gone - Outro  Rest of song :fail:
9. Inside Job - :-?
10. Bushleaguer - Song title/Intro  Rest of song :z:
11. Sleight of Hand - Verses :nice: Chorus/Buildup/Outro/General Direction of the song? :-?
12. Dissident - Intro "sounds like the next classic PJ song" by Chorus "Ok, so this isn't Alive" (My first impression as a 14 yr old!)
13. Spin the Black Circle - Bridge :bammer: Rest of song :-|
14. Present Tense - Outro :hooray: Rest of song :z:
15. Other Side - Intro/First Verse :li: by end of First Chorus :z:
16. Fatal - Intro/First Verse :li: somewhere along the way :z:
17. Ole - Music :bammer: Lyrics
18. Puzzles and Games - Intro :li: somewhere along the way :-|
19. Let It Ride - Outro :bammer: Rest of song :-|
20. Of the Earth - Instrumental Break/Jam :hooray: Rest of song :-|

I could do without the bridge of Immortality. Don't know what they were thinking on that one. Thank god they never attempted something like that again.

Spin The Black Circle is disliked by half the fanbase. Strange but I guess I can see it.

Getaway and Let The Records Play are pretty good. Inside Job is probably underrated(the broken soul part is good).

Upon further review, it does not look right to me. SOH is a rare gem and you should feel bad for not liking it.

Also, and I know I'm in the minority, but I think Big Wave is one of the better songs on S/T.
