I don't mind Corduroy live, sans the call and response. That is effing terrible.
re: Matt... evenslow / trag... did you see my post on pg. 1? Curious to see if y'all hate all Jack songs with Matt or just like recently?
The "tribal" songs (IMT, WYA, GTF) have sucked since the moment Matt joined. Most of the other ones -- the straightforward rockers -- were awesome for Matt's first several years.
Yeah this.
I've mentioned this before, but him not letting the cymbals ring during the "echoes" part in Faithfull, rather playing a closed highhat, is a shame. It really takes away from the moment for me and makes me not like the song as much as I should live.

corduroy given to fly
these are still both great live. Their speed transforms them, but the end result is still a regular concert highlight.
I think Corduroy is ok. Given to Fly the speed takes away from the song, but more than that is the fact Eddie can't make his voice soar anymore and it really takes away from a song that's best part is hearing Eddie's voice soar.

Go listen to a version of corduroy from the last 5-10 years, and then go listen to the one from Live on Two Legs.

Just went and listened to this and it IS pretty good, but that's about the ceiling for this song. There's something about it that's just plodding. When I've seen it in a live setting it really sucks the air out of the room. I can't quite put my finger on why because a song like Tremor Christ has got energy. I know Tremor Christ is a much better song but the pace is similar.
Maybe it has to do with the pedestrian drumming? Infallible certainly doesn't have much swing.

Sydney '03 "Cropduster" is flawless. West Palm Beach and Tampa '00 "Evacuation" are close but slightly flawed. I've heard one or two really good versions of "Force Of Nature". So it's not as though they couldn't play those well if they actually tried.
