Of all the songs that fans sing along to at shows, this one is the most irritating when it happens.
No, no. The call and response in Corduroy is much more irritating.
Yeah that isn't really a sing along though. I'm talking about when they sing so loud along with certain songs, Betterman(live), Alive, etc.
This has got to be the most cynical fan site on the entire internet.
I love Pearl Jam so much
I don't *love* everything Pearl Jam does, but I wouldn't describe any of it as irritating to me.
As for recent live versions of Corduroy -- I dunno, I think the back-and-forth between band and audience is pretty powerful, especially with this band. Is it like they used to do it? No -- but who cares?
I didn't say the song was irritating. I said the crowd singing along to it is. There is a big difference.
What? The crowd singing along to a band they love and a song they've loved for decades? Lol. I guess.

At Oakland 2013 they payed it last and the house lights came up. Who decides when the house lights come up? There might not be a worse song choice in the catalog to be played with the house lights on.
They did this in 2006 and it just highlighted people leaving and was just overall distracting. Dark moody lightning fits this song and any other song would work better in this scenario! Very odd choice

They played it with the house lights up in Ft Worth, too.

This is a tough question to answer. One of the reasons I admire ATY so much is because it’s always had a Beatles feel but it’s never reminded me of a specific Beatles song.
Probably Carry that Weight
It also has a bit of I’ve Got a Feeling and I Want You with a nice touch of what John referred to as Paul’s “granny shit.”
You’re one of those that says Given to Fly is nothing like Going to California, aren’t you?
No I definitely hear the similarities there. Why do you ask?
