so, what....did stip put this tournament together so he could make it seem like a song as average as Lightning Bolt could end up in the final round?
Im confused. We vote each song off its album then pin it against another "best" song off another album? This feels like a farce. So stip can use this is a metacritic voting poll to back his adoration for the later albums over genius shit like Binaural.
"Guys, force of nature made it to the final round of the RM march madness tournamanet, you need to get outside your RM bubble and undrstand that pearl jam is not lazy and cares about their music and this is a great fucking song" *
* Disclaimer: Force of nature is great but compared to most pj songs its awful and fuck this tournament.

Album split for 2017 RMMM
Ten - 3 (Black, Alive, Release) Vs - 2 (Go, Animal) Vitalogy - 5 (Corduroy, Tremor Christ, Immortality, Last Exit, Not For You) No Code - 3 (Hail Hail, In My Tree, Off He Goes) Yield - 3 (Do The Evolution, Brain of J, No Way) Binaural - 3 (Insignificance, Sleight Of Hand, Rival) Riot Act - 2 (Cropduster, You Are) ST - 2 (Parachutes, Unemployable) Backspacer - 2 (Johnny Guitar, Force of Nature) Lightning Bolt - 2 (Pendulum, Getaway)
Merkinball - 2 (I Got Shit, Long Road) Extras - 3 (Sad, Fatal, Strangest Tribe)
Interestingly, it puts Vitalogy sessions and Binaural sessions at 5 a piece. Which is a fair representation of RM, methinks.

oh, i misunderstood
prior winners will not meet first round winners, and every runner up will have to go against a past winner or round one winner. beyond that itll be random

to mix it up next year i think maybe the same basic format but with paired albums (ten/vs, vitalogy/no code, binaural/yield, etc) w the b-sides and non album tracks attached to their appropriate era.

Thoughts?
Maybe eras. 1 - Dave's Ten-Vitalogy 2 - Jack Merkinball - Yeild 3 - Matt part 1 Binaural - Man Of The Hour 4 - Matt part 2 ST - LB
8 tracks from each in 32bracket. If another album dropped before then ST could be pushed into Matt part1.

The depressing part of that is that eras 1, 2+3 add up to 14 years (1990-2003) and era 4 is 14 years (2004-2018) with era 4 containing less than 50 officially released songs.

i like the idea of giving the 8 most recent winners a bye, though. so 6 per era if we went that way
