Listen to the Vitalogy remaster this morning. Whipping is the only song that benefits from the more aggressive presentation; it actually sounds great. Every other song sounds better to me on the original release

I hope #1 on the TSIS list of most Pearl Jam moments is “Eddie Vedder fleeces fans out of $237 per ticket whilst releasing only his second song with the band he’s created to perform them with.”

I am actually surprised they sold out. I mean, I get they’ll play selected covers, including Pearl Jam songs and all (I will reserve the discussion of paying to see a group not Pearl Jam playing Pearl Jam songs with Pearl Jam’s lead singer months before the actual Pearl Jam is expected to tour and play the same songs for a lot less money argument if it becomes necessary), but really even if your assessment of the new material is rosy, there’s 1 good Tom Petty song and a miserably bad sappy love song that may or may not improve slightly on the instrumental level towards the end of the song, which accounts for nearly all of the justification for paying to see this show. That output sold thousands of tickets at a very premium rate. Astounding.

I got a friend who is a HUGE Betty White fan. She got a few texts throughout the day on Friday (people thought of her first when hearing the news) and I told her to count them up and we can compare it to how many I get the day Eddie Vedder dies.

Bold of you to assume you're going to outlive Vedder. He's very wealthy.
