Strangely enough, this is the closest I've felt to identifying with a mikejasond opinion.
There is something special about those pre-Matt records they lost afterward. It's no knock against Matt as a musician but the Daves and Jack really did have a different feel that accented and propelled those songs in a way that I think plays more to the band's strengths. Case in point: the performance of Alive at the HoF with Krusen, I hadn't heard it sound that good in years.

Listening to Binaural right now, about half way through Evacuation. I never forget how great this album is, but every time I listen to it I find myself thinking, "Fuck this is good."

Right now is probably the longest I have gone without listening to a full PJ album. It's been I guess 4 years. I don't know if I will care when / if they put something new out. Are they even really a band at this point? I think a Lost Dogs II would get me more excited than a new album. I no longer see them as having the potential to write something that catches me by surprise or gets me excited.

There was a time I said that Avocado was my third favorite album after Ten and Vs. But I dont think that's true anymore. Vitalogy grew on me a lot I didnt really get it at first.
