For a long time I was extremely concerned about Ed's drinking habit on stage, as I saw him live at multiple shows downing a bottle of wine. I haven't seen any shows in a handful of years. Has he continued to do this?
Also, I can't for the life of me visualize pre-Binural Ed singing post-Binural songs. It's like two periods of time split right down the middle; like they're two different people. My brain won't make the connection. I was watching them perform at their R&R Hall of Fame induction with Dave Krusen the other day and old photos of the band kept flashing in the background and I legitimately started to cry because they were so different (also because seeing DK was nostalgic af). Like, the old them died and they were performing a eulogy for themselves. Yet, at the same time it was kind of cathartic because I thought, well, they made it. They fucking made it. They survived. They are legends.

I’ll say it one more time coz last time (09?) i got flamed and abused to death for it. Now I know it for fact.
There’s sometimes two bottles. It isn’t wine in the first bottle. It’s some weird throat coat concotion and it’s the one that leads to him relentlessly spitting, whatever is in it. But it’s only function is to help his throat.
The second bottle you sometimes see towards the encore / end of the night, that’s the wine bottle with actual wine in it.
So he’s basically faking rock star wine guy for the majority of the show.
