Over/Under on my girlfriend dumping me over this intro to PJ playlist I made her? Important to note she's not very familiar with PJ, loves all kinds of music, and requested a long playlist.

"Here's two monsters to start things off: Corduroy, a wooly mammoth of a tune, all snarling angst and anguished vocals, with a real catchy hook to temper things out. Followed by Animal, just an absolute beast of a track, ferocity in waveform.
Then there's Alone. It's a weird outtake. There's a real boring guitar riff barely holding things together, and Ed tries some goofy falsetto stuff. Enjoy!"

That's way too long. She's gonna listen to maybe a third of that
She's a marathon listening champ clocks in under 2 hours.

Alone in the three-spot it a tough hill to climb
Classic 90s guitar wailing with nice interplay that's brought out with the Lost Dogs production. What's not to like.

I concede your point on Alone trag haha and Daughter really belongs in there somewhere.
The fade out of Big Wave into the fade in to Last Exit is perfection and Big Wave could be chalk full of problems on first listen but it can get so good.

i'd say Corduroy is my personal all-time fav song by them, and i respect going with the studio cut, but man...that version from the first Self-Pollution radio....woooo boy.

The alternate Corduroy take from the reissued Vitalogy is another solid choice. Anything but the current (and way too fast and long) versions.
Take note that the beginning is the same version as Vitalogy. The rest of the Vitalogy version is from the Atlanta concert with overdubs. So now one can hear both full versions that comprise the original Vitalogy edit.
