There's no way he'd ever use a lyric from Yield.

Strangely enough, this is the closest I've felt to identifying with a mikejasond opinion.

There is something special about those pre-Matt records they lost afterward. It's no knock against Matt as a musician but the Daves and Jack really did have a different feel that accented and propelled those songs in a way that I think plays more to the band's strengths. Case in point: the performance of Alive at the HoF with Krusen, I hadn't heard it sound that good in years.

Listening to Binaural right now, about half way through Evacuation. I never forget how great this album is, but every time I listen to it I find myself thinking, "Fuck this is good."

Right now is probably the longest I have gone without listening to a full PJ album. It's been I guess 4 years. I don't know if I will care when / if they put something new out. Are they even really a band at this point? I think a Lost Dogs II would get me more excited than a new album. I no longer see them as having the potential to write something that catches me by surprise or gets me excited.

I totally agree, with one exception: Binaural

Guys, news flash/i hate to break it to you/shut up

Pearl jam have put out two albums that one can discuss the level of shit that it may be....

Everything else is fucking fantastic no matter what drummer is on board.

The two albums are Backfacer and Lightning Dolt and neither of these are to be blamed on Matt Cameron.

That may be true, Strat, but I much prefer Jack and Dave live.

It has a couple of decent songs and a lot of garbage. It's far from fantastic.

Its much better than Binaural and Riot Act. The riff from Life Wasted is so nice because it like drags us out of those murky middle years.

There was a time I said that Avocado was my third favorite album after Ten and Vs. But I dont think that's true anymore. Vitalogy grew on me a lot I didnt really get it at first.
