I'd probably give Lost Dogs to a newbie as an intro to pearl jam before I'd give them a record.
My sis started and ended her PJ relationship with Lost Dogs. It wouldn't have been my first choice, and I'm not surprised she bailed off the strength of that one record.

I think Eddie only knows one riff on the harmonica -- the one he uses here and the one he uses on "Smile" are pretty much identical, despite the significant musical differences between the two songs.
"Last Solider" has unique harmonica playing that doesn't resemble either of those songs.

and that's completely by accident.. eddie was holding the harmonica upside down for most of the second "solo"
So im all emotional and riled up about the events of the world. Brother Instrumental is on. It actually sounds great as the soundtrack to the world burning.
Try coming at it with that perspective and you may love it.

I've always loved brother. With or without vocals.

Was there ever an official reason why there was no Long Road or Leatherman on Lost Dogs? I know LD isn't exhaustive but those 2 seem particularly conspicuous by their absence.
I know State Of Love And Trust, Breath, I Got Shit and Man Of The Hour was on Rearviewmirror, but so was Last Kiss and Yellow Ledbetter.
Other songs missing from Lost Dogs, in addition to Long Road and Leatherman, include Crazy Mary, Just A Girl, Last Soldier, Happy When I’m Crying, Angel.
Post Lost Dogs songs include Love Reign O’er Me and Olé. Room for another Lost Dogs like album.
