The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
Full disclosure: I had no idea what Stip was talking about. So I quoted Ole because it applied and I had a feeling he wouldn't know what it was from and then we'd be even.

Maybe? Feels really weird to say that the onus was on him to contact them and ask to be formally invited.
To me this mostly makes that press release they sent sound disingenuous and weaselly.
I know this topic is tiresome and I don't want to take away from the conversation in the last couple pages so I'll shush about it.
I also don't feel like getting lost in the weeds of this argument any further either but totally agreed, it's beyond me how anyone thinks this situation reflects well on Pearl Jam and poorly on Abbruzzese.

the 3 years Dave A was in the band still matter more than the 18 that matt c has
the drummer thing does matter
because this the litmus test for this asinine exercise in self congratulation is 'fame' , and pearl jam rose to fame with Dave A behind the kit and not matt c

Overall i was disappointed by Dave Letterman. Not because it was a bad speech. Dave was classic dave and it was touching and somewhat personal.
However, when you watch the speeches Ed has gave - he set the bar really high. He is so personal and deeply impacted by the musicians he's inducted and the speeches are just wonderful.

I wanted someone on a similar level.

He was probably a hundred times better than Neil would have been.
