The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.

He closed it with "Be all," which is what he used waaaaay back in '96 or so when he responded to a couple of my emails after he popped up on the Pearl Jam newsgroup.

hopefully Ed will buy a copy for a few million bucks to try and make amends for scapegoating on him all those years ago

Well I gotta know more about this.
Not much too it. He popped into the PJ newsgroup one day, shared his version of what went down with his firing and his feelings since (the experience he recounted was the same that was in the Kim Neely book, I think). He shared his email address -- frogstik@aol.com, I think? -- We exchanged one or two brief emails. I was a teenage fan, he was going through whatever he was going through...In hindsight, I don't remember our conversation being terribly interesting. I think I still have his email printed out somewhere, will try to share it some time.

True story. I messaged him a few times back in like 2000 he still had that email address. He offered to call me but I was already 20 minutes late for an exam. Would have been cool. I was also nervous too.
I think my head would explode while trying to decide if taking an important exam or getting a phone call from my second favorite drummer of all-time is more important.

All kind of weird in retrospect, right? I can barely find the time to keep up with family members, and Dave is trading emails and offering to make phone calls? I'm not suggesting his intentions weren't good -- maybe he just likes people -- but i can sort of see why there'd be conflict between his attitude and Ed's back in the day.
There's an interview on Youtube, it's in 3 parts I think. It's the one where he compares Pearl Jam and U2 gigs. The thing that strikes me from the interview is that he seems so, well, Pearl Jam. It's just hard to imagine there being any sort of political clash...

I can remember reading a lot of stories and interviews and both he and Mike were usually the ones hanging out after shows and talking and giving autographs and such. I can totally see him being a legitimately nice dude.
