I'd like to bring Not for you from Columbia, MD (Sept 4, 2000) into the discussion. It's the US equivalent to the Milan 2000 version.

My two cents...

For "Last Exit", Berlin 1996, or Detroit 2000.

For "Not For You", the version on disc 2 from the PJ20 blu ray is pretty awesome (Jack!).

For "Immortality", one of the best versions I've heard was from Katowice, 6/15/2000. The jam at the end if really good.

For "Tremor Christ", I'm loving Tampa 2000. There is a little more wha-wha effect to the guitars than usual (Stone?) and the line "even the east coast can get big big waves" is a nice touch.

For "Whipping", St. Louis 2000, and Saratoga 2000 aren't too shabby.

For "Betterman", I'm partial to no tag. The LO2L version is about as good as it gets. For more of a boot feel, I like Verona, Italy 6/20/2000, and Detroit 2000.

For "Corduroy", I'm partial to Inglewood, CA 1998 (vault series) or Charlotte, NC 2000, or Boise, ID 2000. The "highhat intro" Matt does on the 2003 tour is pretty interesting as well. For the sped up jack hammer intro, San Francisco 2006 is pretty good.

Corduroy really needs to be from 2000 or earlier.

Disorganized but what about Long Road from the Mansfield present on 7-11-03?

Great version, but he's not looking for acoustic performances.

It loses something when played acoustically.

The Boise version of Corduroy is completely out of hand. Stone and Mike do some great trippy stuff in the breakdown before the solo at which point Mike fires off a series of sick delayed-out notes at the beginning that always gives me the Memorex Man treatment.

Forgive me for not listening to all of those tyweed

This doesn’t get any easier - trying to decide on Last Exit at the moment.

DC 1995 is awesome and as good as it gets with Jack behind the kit, but Matt is giving him a run for his money with Boise 2000. It starts off relatively pedestrian but the second half is shit-hot fire. Downside is Ed finishes every chorus with ‘won’t ever find me here’ which I guess could be considered an intentional lyric change for that tour? There is also Zagreb 2006-09-26 which is rapid but tight as, with decent vocals and the correct ‘shed my skin at last’ lyric...

I listened to DC 95 Last Exit with Jack yesterday and it WAS awesome!!! I can't remember if I voted for that one or not, but it is quality.

Just checked out DC and Boise. I'm voting for DC. The minute Jack starts, the whole thing takes off and just fires through. It's been years (decades?) since I've listened to that show. Listening to the whole thing now based off the strength of that "Last Exit" performance.

Ha! Yeah, no expectation at all that you would. Ridiculously long list. Just felt good to get it out there.

As far as Last Exit goes, I feel like Matt has never ever done this song justice. There's something about his style and the sound of his snare that undercuts the attack of the drums. The snap and life just isn't there. I love MC, but for me, this song more than any other, has really suffered since he joined the band.

Dave's intro is so vital to the song, and Jack managed to bring an his own approach and sound while not dampening the spirit of the track. 1995 DC all the way!

11-1-95 is a bit of an overlooked Corduroy, might be worth considering

5-2-03 has a pretty good STBC as well (then again, everything from that show just about is :bammer:

After multiple listens back and forth I'm in agreement with this.

Now for Not For You.

I originally wanted to use Soldier Field, but there is a minor lyric error ("and you dare say this is not for you"). Manila 95 also has a small mistake ("never was for you" repeated twice in the final chorus). DC 95 is pretty good also and correct lyrically, but I think the solo is better on Soldier Field. Not sure this should be a Matt version either, but Milan 2000 is really good.

Thoughts?
