That's nice and all, but I'm not in it for the intro. That Vegas version is hot fire
True, just re-listened to Vegas and hard to argue.
I'll argue.
Atlanta is a gut-wrenching throat-ripper, just the way I like my Go.
But the Vegas Animal gets my vote.
Go is going to be a tight battle between these two.
The Vegas Animal is spoilt by Ed yelling ‘be careful!’ in the middle of the last chorus. There actually aren’t many soundboard Dave A versions of Animal - may have to go with Atlanta...
Cleveland 2006-05-20 (It's Okay tag) - Not up to scratch
Lisbon 2006-09-05 (It's Okay tag) - Unlike many 2006 versions this is nice and slow. Great crowd participation. The It's Okay tag is very good and concludes with an awesome Mike solo.
Milan 2000-06-22 (no tag, awesome call and response) - Excellent main song, some great drum work, and the call and response is an all time classic (the birth of the ay-oh-ay chant?)
Jones Beach 2000-08-24 (It's Okay tag) - Main song is serviceable, I know this version of the tag is well loved around here but some of the weird lyric changes have always bothered me ("Hope in an alleyway" WTF?)
Rotterdam 1993-07-16 (WMA tag) - Not bad, though end of song is cut off. Not sure if we should use a WMA tag.
Washington DC 1998-09-19 (LO2L - RITFW/WMA tags) - If we do use a WMA tag I think this is the one

you are seeking to identify the definitive live version of 'Daughter' and non-Dave Abbruzzese versions are being considered

SomeNumbersUP makes a good point - maybe Vegas, Atlanta and Orpheum versions should be in contention?
I would definitely slide Atlanta into contention, even if Atlanta is appearing so often in this album set. That take got enough radio airplay in '94, it could almost be considered the released single for the song. (As short as it is, I still love that "Wall" singalong.)

I love the VMA performance, if only Ed weren't so hammered.
Speaking of which - did anyone ever transfer the mix of the VMA performance (just "Animal") from the "Go" cassette? I've been meaning to transfer it myself.

I adore the studio version of Sleight Of Hand but I've never really heard a live version that's heavy/intense enough. Anyone got any recommendations? That chorus needs to sound massive.

I did. It's on the b-sides comp. It's a much better mix without the engineer flub at the beginning, but there has been a layer of fake crowd noise added to it. The cassette also wobbles like a motherfucker.
