It should be way better than it is. They put as much effort into pj radio as they do pj these days. That being said, comparing it to Tom Petty radio is not fair because TP radio is one of the greatest things on earth. Tom had a massive hand in curating that station and it was/is brilliant.

what sort of new or unique artists do you find on Tom Petty radio? I feel like it could range from really cool to really fucking boring.

I'm not listening to Petty radio to discover new bands.

I feel like I hear the same ten songs on Petty radio over and over.

Yeah, but that's true of Sirius/XM in general. TP Radio is really good when they're doing one of the actual hosted shows. The Benmont Tench Show is fantastic as are old episodes of Buried Treasure.

I love TP radio. I don’t listen nearly as often as I should, but when I do it’s always good. I loved listening to Tom host a show more than anyone else probably ever. His knowledge was incredibly astonishing. And his general approach and vibe was just a pleasure to listen to. When he passed away, I was just as upset about the idea of missing out on his new radio shows as I was new music. More so probably.

And the show is recorded in the finest studio in the LA airport area.

To be fair, I haven't listed to one of the Tom hosted show.

They play repeats. I heard part of one on Saturday.

Did anyone get a recording of the Ament track by track discussion on SiriusXM which aired on 10th May?
If so, please can you share it with me! :D

I believe Demetrios on the official PJ forum recorded it but I’m not a member of that forum anymore. My allegiance is here at the Mosquito! ;)

I am really enjoying Jeff’s album and sadly I don’t expect this level of enjoyment from the next PJ album.

Much appreciated! :)

I have been listening for the last week since it was free. I am already tired of it. I think it was Thursday, I head Last Kiss 3 times in 11 hours? All within about an hours worth of time in the car.

Extremely repetitive.

In honor of RSD, they are playing songs "ripped from vinyl" which I'm pretty sure is them just adding in a few crackles before the mp3 starts.

And on the song display, they add the "rpm" at the end of the song, to convince us it was ripped from vinyl. "Immortality [45RPM]"

Lol

PJ records are already basically just mp3s pressed to vinyl.
