I wanted to make a cool mix for a friend that is coming over tomorrow night. He is a Pearl Jam fan and has been with me to at least 3 PJ shows. He has more than a good general knowledge of the PJ catalog, but he definitely is more familiar with the hits and the songs that get played a lot at live shows. I want to make a cool album length mix from the middle records (No Code - Riot Act) and I want the songs to be fairly distributed with each album represented more than once. I also want to avoid songs he's heard 100s of times, hence the "deep cuts". I am also trying to make it feel like a sonicly cohesive album (or at least I want the songs to flow well from one to the next as much as possible).
Here's what I've come up with at this point:
01. Brain of J. 02. Leatherman 03. No Way 04. Evacuation 05. Hail, Hail 06. Low Light In The Moonlight 07. You Are 08. Nothing As It Seems 09. Cropduster 10. MFC 11. Lukin Sleight Of Hand 12. Present Tense 13. Parting Ways
13 Songs * 51 Minutes

I made a couple adjustments. My buddy hates Lukin (I love it) so I took that out. I replaced Low Light because Sleight of Hand is the best PJ song ever and I just had to include it, and I like the way it plays off of In The Moonlight (my replacement for Lukin) and You Are.

I like your changes, we seem to have similar PJ tastes. Playing around with lists like that is certainly one of my more nerdy fanboy things; still love looking at concert sets and switching up songs.

Nice! I love playing with stuff like this too. Finding the perfect mix or perfect set, I just think its a lot of fun. Thanks for playing along.

Jack Irons version, double-album length. At 77 minutes, it's just one song too long to fit on a single CD. But it could easily fit on two CDs/4 records, so I'm calling it an album.
Sometimes Brain of J No Way Who You Are Given to Fly -------- Wishlist Smile Hail, Hail Off He Goes --------- I Got Shit Faithful Habit Driftin' (Original version) --------- (Red Dot) Happy When I'm Crying Do the Evolution Dead Man Long Road Stupid Mop (Hidden track)
