Take it to this thread pal:

well yeah, i knew that one.. but i thought i read somewhere over the years that he suffered pretty badly with this album. i know he wasn't comfortable with the recording studio setting in California, but for some reason thought that translated to having some writing issues

Oh, I don't know. I don't know my Pearl Jams history too well. I smoked and drank most of it away.

Hasn't Ed claimed to have really bad writer's block during every album's sessions by now?

it was a tough stretch to go from "What The Funk?" to "Tremor Christ"

Indifference is the perfect album closer and Go is the perfect starter. You so crazy. Also, Ten and No Code are both quite a bit better than Joshua Tree, so I'm not really worried about that one.

He is at the top for me no doubt, but Jack Irons was a force to be reckoned with.

I'd say it's actually one of, if not their most, consistent albums. I put it on the other day and didn't skip a track. I mean, like, every other record has some shit on it other than this one. Consistently great songs. WMA/Leash are the weakest, but both still listenable good songs. This record is particularly 'the Dave show'. He dominates this record, and as a result it has a feel quite unlike all the other pj albums - it's particularly concerned with groove and rhythm, and they only went as far again in that respect on no code, with tunes such in my tree. Great sounding record as well, sounds awesome cranked up loud and is also great through headphones. This record does not have a major flaw.

Pretty much my feelings too.

I skip around on VS. more than any other Pearl Jam album.

Go does open up side two, and Indifference is a great closer for sure, but I like a mellow song to open followed by something jarring. Rvm is like bell ringing in a change for the band so as a closer it would build suspense. Indifference offers closure. Which would be great following Ten.

One major flaw on this record is that Hard to imagine isnt on it. It sounds more like Ten Pj than vs PJ but still..

It's biggest flaw is it sound like a album that would come out after Ten ,and before Vitalogy.
The fact Vs doesn't sound like Backspacer makes it kinda crappy. Creed made this record that is what is wrong with it!

This is not that hard, but I will be more clear. Vs is predictable. It is not in anyway rad like Backspacer. Overall the band that made this album was replaced by Creed, and this band turned into the greatest band in the world. Only after completely f^%^%n up this record.

while i do think the early unproduced demos of the songs that make up vs, would be amazing to hear, and a lot more fittingly raw, i dont by any means think the fucked vs up.

Except maybe WMA and leash. and Glorified G.

Well that is 25 percent of the album spaced out all over the place. That sucks

WMA is fucking awesome - probably top 3 of this album for me. I wish PJ done more of this kind of song.

the biggest mistake with Vs was the lame-o remastered version with bonus tracks
