Both phenomenal tracks which highlighted the strengths of Stone's riffage and each individual's playing. Dave A is a beast on VS, esp the 1-2-3 punch of Go-Animal-Daughter. His hat work on Daughter is so fluid. And Ed supplies a beautiful melody.
But from the first viewing of Animal at the VMAs nearly 22 years ago, Animal has rocked and moved me. There's no fat, no gristle. It's all bone and muscle and sinew, moving like a predator (poor choice or apt choice of word?) on the savannah.
It's dangerous and tense and it leaves me breathless, still.
