Parachutes is the kind of song they should be writing in their older age. Its so great. Stone wrote a pretty interesting guitar part and ed brings it together with melody. McCready playing off of Gossard....comes across as two very comfortable guitarists who have been playing together for a very long time.

I like Parachutes enough, but it's never quite grabbed me as it has so many others here. WWS on the other hand has grabbed me many times, and each time it does I think, "Hell yeah, that was awesome."

There's no shame losing to parachutes, which is both excellent and aligned with RM's collective musical sensibilities. But I'm going to have to insist that World Wide Suicide be given more respect.

After re-listening, I still don't like it, but the riff isn't horrible.

I don't hate "WWS", but I do find the use of e-bow in its intro to be one of the most poorly-conceived arrangement ideas in Pearl Jam's entire catalogue.
Regardless of that, "Parachutes" is the much superior song.
