So, backspacer III will come out somewhere in 2019. Almost 6 years after backspacer II.
They are really slowing down.... Backspacer IV will come out in 2027 and will be their last....

Elsewhere in the interview, Ament discounted the possibility of anniversary box sets for No Code and Yield similar to the ones they did for their first three albums. He noted that Pearl Jam already reissued No Code and Yield on vinyl, “mainly because we saw what people were paying for them on eBay. We opted to remaster those records and put them out in that form.”

i think he's just not into repeating the past, nor making predictable music. i'm guessing he's still into the idea that they can be a boundary-pushing band, which, you know...I'm sort of waiting for the other shoe to drop.

It's been their day job for a decade now, certainly not their passion. If it wasnt for the fan's inability to let go they probably wouldn't be around anymore.
