DOTC is an exciting diversion, but lyrically it's weak, melodically it's not memorable and musically it's all downhill after the first (admittedly brilliant) 40 seconds or so. I still think it's good but it's a million miles away from top tier PJ for me.

I agree. It's very cool in the context of the PJ catalog and where they are in their career, but wouldn't really be a standout outside of that.

Buulllshiiit. DOTC would be great in any context.
No it wouldn't fit any of the first five. It would fit Binaural and Riot Act, may Avocado not Backgreatrstalumeverspacer, Lighting Bolt would work if surrounded by My Father's Son and Pendulum

I'll take an album full of DOTCs over Gigaton any time. The only two songs I still listen to off of Gigaton are DOTC (with much delight) and Who Ever Said (a lot rarer).
edit: matter of fact I wish their next studio disk was completely in the style of DOTC. Enough of that "trying to sound like the bad boys from the golden PJ era and proving we still got it at the top of our tired lungs". DOTC is how I know they "still got it". I want the new face of PJ to have the DOTC smirk on it. Musically and lyrically. DOTC effing rocks and only it has truly rocked since... Yield.
Gigaton has a few songs that are pretty unique. DoTC is the standout, but don't sleep on Seven O'Clock, River Cross, Buckle Up, and Comes Then Goes. Even the more traditional "rockers" have unusual structures and arrangements.
