The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
I think the Vitalogy booklet is amazing. The music is also mostly great, some of it the best of Pearl Jam. But the cover all by itself. Not so special.

I think Riot Act is a pretty fantastic cover, both for how evocative it is in its own right, as well as how accurately it captures the tone of the album. It's kind of the opposite of the issue I had with LB; Riot Act's cover looks like how that album feels.
I agree completely with this list. I’d add lost dogs after Yield. Oh and LO2L too.
Oh i forgot about those. The PJ20 dvd from ten club was really cool. and Live on ten legs too. I really like their artwork. Even if its ok like Binaural for example, i like the pics, how they display the lyrics and the little drawings.

It does feel significant that Riot Act was the last Pearl Jam album Jeff was involved in making the artwork for.
IIRC, Jeff was the creative director for Lightning Bolt. I think he worked directly with Pendleton, running ideas together. While Pendleton actually created the illustrations, I believe he worked pretty close with Jeff through the process

Yeah Jeff was heavily involved in LB. BS i would say its the only one he didnt contribute, but still he is the creative director of the band. There is footage of him and Ed looking through Tomorrow´s art.

Cover art only:
No Code Yield Vs Ten Riot Act Binaural Vitalogy Lightning Bolt Backspacer Pearl Jam
If I'm ranking entire packages, Vitalogy would be way higher. But the cover is literally just a copy of the original Vitalogy book. And while it works for the album, i had to rank some of the more creative covers above it. Although, the printing technique for such a massive printing job is really nice (textured paper, gold stamping)

The recent news of no progress on this has made us all depressed and reflective.
There has been some progress, just not currently progressing. With any hope in sight. Any time soon.

If Trump and Cornell's death can't do it, what will motivate Ed to write something? The Cubs disbanding as an organization? Sean Penn winning an Oscar and not thanking him in his speech? A surfing accident?

I think the Trump and Cornell thing worked against him. Both things are just too big to write about. I would bet he hasn't been able to find a way in on that stuff.
Maybe we can convince Theo Epstein to ban Ed from Wrigley and he can end up writing an incredible breakup record.
