there are a few crowd videos up from last night. ive only seen a few of them (dance, qe, sbwm, alive) but the new songs work really well and the whole band sounded great. quick escape was an early highlight

The new songs live have an energy that goes beyond what I anticipated, and I'm an optimist. DOTC was somehow the weakest of the bunch, but if you watch or listen to it, it sounded great. 7 O'Clock, Quick Escape and SBWM were all incredible for me, and TTLW wasn't far behind. Never Destination could use a little work in my opinion- both The Who flavor in that bridge section and the Tom Petty flavor in the end were a little watered down. But I have to say, new Pearl Jam songs performed live haven't had this kind of energy for me since 2003. This tour could be something very, very special. I can't wait to hear Whoever Said!

I hadn’t listened to any PJ in at least six months, probably longer. I watched the video clips of the Gigaton songs from last nights show and was really encouraged that this could be a fun tour. Anyhow, I’m excited to hear all these new songs played several times and interested in seeing how the addition of Josh K. changes anything. I want some high quality concert videos!

This is maybe the most I've ever been impressed by current-day live Pearl Jam.
If I’m really honest, the last time I was this impressed by something current that PJ did was probably that VH1 Honors The Who performance. They sound fucking great.

So just saw this footage for the first time. This audio is a lot better than what I heard last night. Holy Hell. These performances are fire. Especially Quick Escape. I’m just astonished and thrilled at how well they’re playing and how good it all sounds. Freaking awesome.

I know it’s off-topic in this thread, but check out the performance of Present Tense if you haven’t seen it yet. There’s a yt video of the end of corduroy, Ed talking, and then Present Tense, and I swear this is THE live version of that song that I always wanted to hear.

Yeah, I was lucky enough to see the whole show (thank you Tom Jones), but the audio is better in various yt videos I’ve been watching in the time since.
