Eh, having heard both SBM and OTE live, I’d take the latter every time. When they premiered OTE in Dublin they blew the roof off the joint.
In London a few Days later the beer lines grew immensely.
Having said that, the audience was largely unengaged for the entire show, save for the 'hits'. Typical Hyde Park crowd - attending for a day's jolly rather than for the music.

A recent aneurysm? You must prefer SBM now.

I am still running on the theory that the forthcoming album is not nearly done yet. We’ve had more than a week of a new single but neither have they announced a date or title nor have they played a single other new song live. I am pretty sure this is all they’ve fully recorded so far.

Most are leaning this way. Still, it's not unprecedented to not play more new stuff live before a release. They've only played three shows since August 2016 after all.

Correct that it is not unprecedented, but if were ready or even close to ready to go, why only release a just finished single, play only that song live, and give no timeline or album title or anything...it just seems like they jumped into a studio, recorded this, mixed it, and then jetted to South America. They’ve said they would release something in a vague way only to have it never come to pass before. See Backspacer EP.
