Sadly, yes it seems this is the new norm. Never thought I'd see PJ ticket prices get that high, but that's where we are.

I was feeling serious FOMO for the first time since losing my 10C # years back, and this definitely takes some of that sting away. Still gonna try to make the 2nd Seattle show, and hope it doesn't completely rape my wallet.

so i guess, ironically, PJ shows have become the haves versus the have-nots

It certainly is. Funny how I had no problem paying over $100 each for 2 Radiohead shows last year but this is rankling me. I'm all over the place with this band these days..

At least there's the charity angle. I can write these tickets off, yeah?

Maybe they have a new stage set/rig for the new album. Oh.

They better replace all vocal mics and equipment. That vocal static that popped up in 2015 and a little in 2016really pissed me off.

Based on what it would cost me to travel, get hotel accommodations and tickets, I decided I was better off seeing Gary Clark Jr. and Govt Mule (two separate shows) at a local theater (1,800 capacity). The ticket price of both shows combined is substantially less than the cost of one Pearl Jam show ($42 for Gary Clark Jr., $40 for Govt Mule; $115 for Pearl Jam). And the venue is 20 minutes from my house rather than 3 hours.

Yeah, but its Gary Clark...that shit gets old fast.

I quite enjoy Gary Clark Jr. - saw him at The Roots Picnic in Philly 5 years ago and was mesmerized. I mostly y just wish he had more material. I thought the Story of Sonny Boy Slim was an excellent album.

weren’t GA tickets from resellers pretty cheap for these baseball stadium shows right before the shows?

if you don’t want to spend $150 for a fan club seat I think you can get non-fan club after the fact for quite cheap

esp if these are all like Monday night concerts

Admittedly this is my non-American, non-10C member perspective, but I don’t get why people bother buying two 10C tickets instead of picking a single in the public sale or whatever.

usually better seats, and it can be hard to get these after the fact in the states.

Yeah, if you aren’t able to hit the general sale in the first 45 minutes or so your SOL for paying face value for seats. Unless you want to risk waiting until day before/day of when they release more, which sometimes does and sometimes doesn’t happen.

I dunno, I had a number of friends trying to unload tickets day-of-show last time. I think many of them didn't get picked up.

Hey stip.

So this... and the extra can usually be swapped for an equivalent seat at another show via trading on the pit

Some people don’t want to hang out with a random stranger for the night, not knocking it, but that doesn’t appeal to me in the least.

I've never a bad experience or one of these PJ-bro types and it challenges the introvert in me, which is good.

The other piece of it is that it gives my a break from my life. No wife, no kids, just go out and have fun and as someone who has been married for 8 years, separate mini-vacations help keep you sane.
