they're literally their first, and sometimes only, line of safety. i dunno if you have a homeless pandemic where you live, but in seattle, the police force is out helping the homeless and the public safety every single day. they may not personally understand or agree with what they're doing, but they're doing it.

when you see benches lined with spikes so that rough sleepers can't sit or sleep on them, and when you find out that the police are driving them from the gentrified part of town and dropping them off in the shitty part of town every Friday night to protect the aesthetic reputation of the place for rich visitors, you kinda go off cops; they don't care about homeless individuals, they care about cleaning up vermin
I mean, I think this is a good thing PJ is donating to over all, of course I do, but this band wrote WMA so one little part of it leaves a sour note for me
but I'm no fan of cops and I spend a lot of time advocating against their participation at Pride, so take or leave what I think

HEADER POST UPDATED:
UPDATE
With the recent release of the album Gigaton, the Post-Riot Act Moneygrab phase of the popular band Pearl Jam is declared to be over.
The latest album is a glorious production with all the merits of exactly what this individual had been hoping to hear from his favorite band. The songs are outstanding, the performances are sincere, the music is unique and varied, and the album sounds amazing. This album seems to have been made the way they wanted to make it, on their own schedule, and it is easy to read into how proud they are of the result. The next phase of Pearl Jam is yet to be written, but it's off to a great start.

Any problem I’ve had with Pearl Jam these years have not been artistically. Although I do think Gigaton is better than Backspacer and Lightning Bolt, I would very much say it’s up for discussion vs S/T, but that’s not really the important question here. However, certain business practices, how Ten Club has behaved etc, have been much more of a moneygrab.
