I love Matt's drumming in Binaural. Its really really good.
He sounds great on the outtakes too. In The Moonlight could be a Soundgarden song, and say what you will about Hitchhiker, but the drumming during the breakdown is really good.

A little late to the party, but I was listening the instrumentals from the Touring Band DVD, and I´m sure that is Jack drumming in the 3 songs, not Matt.
Since Jack left in early 98, I´m pretty sure that those instrumentals were recorded during the Yield sessions.
What do you think?
anyway, I would love to get the links for this compilation ....

No, it's Matt And those instrumentals are really cool. I always wondered why they didn't make a real song out of that 'thunderclap' instrumental. Well, it's probably because that song has been around for 40 years....check out Cream 'NSU'

At least Harmony is Jack, for sure. Is his drumming style, the drum sound... Just listen to the transitions, the hits... After a better listen, the other 2 seems to be Matt, but Harmony is definitely not Matt.

FAN-MADE PROJECT - NOT FOR SALE
Binaural - bɪˈnɔːr(ə)l,bʌɪ-/ - adjective - relating to or involving both ears
The Binaural recording sessions took place at Stone Gossard's Studio Litho in Seattle, WA between March 1999 and January 2000, with innovative producer Tchad Blake at the helm. When the tracklisting for Binaural was first published in late March 2000, it was quite different from the version of the album released in May 2000, which was the result of some last minute revising and remixing by the band's long-time producer Brendan O'Brien.
Some tracks that were originally on the album were dropped and not released until the 2003 rarities compilation, 'Lost Dogs'. Other recordings from the Binaural sessions have also found their way into the hands of Pearl Jam fans over the years. These include the 1999 TenClub Christmas single, three instrumentals featured on the Touring Band 2000 DVD, and various leaked production discs. This has lead to frequent debate and 'retracking' among the fan community, as individuals to sought to compile their 'definitive Binaural'.
This compilation aimed to give Binaural the deluxe treatment it deserves, and features the original March 2000 tracklist on disc one (with the addition of 'Gods' Dice', which was added to the final version of the album). The aim was not to create the original 'Tchad Blake version' of the album (which would require a number of his unreleased mixes that have yet to surface), but rather to present what I consider to be the definitive Binaural tracklist, using the best officially released versions of each track.
Disc two brings together a collection of demos, outtakes and alternate mixes from the Binaural sessions, including some original Tchad Blake mixes of tracks later remixed for the final album by Brendan O'Brien. You may have heard these tracks before, but not like this - they have been expertly remastered by JWB to sound as close to an official release as possible. The 'Lost Dogs' tracks included on disc one have also been remastered to better fit with the rest of the album.
**A number of the tracks on disc two are taken from lossy sources - if anyone comes across a lossless upgrade for any of these, please PM me and I will gladly update this collection.

Hi there, not sure how i missed this for so long. Is there a link available please ?
Grievance definitely doesn't hit as hard as it should in the studio version, but I think it's the guitars being neutered more than the drums. The drumming around 'champagne breakfast for everyone' is spectacular
There is absolutely nothing wrong the production of grievance. Sure, it doesnt sound like every other hard rocker pearl jam, but it doesnt need to. Its perfect. It sits alone and one of the most naturally bad ass songs they have written. Doesnt need to be punched up.
