Yes. I loved it when it came out and then it kind disappointed me for a long time.
Now, its up there again.

Well I like it too. Hitch my pony to this Bandwagon any day.

(That said I haven’t heard it in years)

Through it on this evening with a warm cocktail.

I still listen to Riot Act more than any other Pearl Jam album. More often than not, it's the first PJ record I reach for.

Vitalogy and No Code for me. Probably s/t after that oddly, but I wouldn’t place it third on my list of favorites.

I adore Vitalogy and the statement it makes, but it can be a difficult record to listen to from front to back. I rarely visit it.

What is it about this album and Binaural that make them work much better live than on the album? Listening to a live version of Ghost from 2003 and it sounds really good. 1/2 Full is another one that sounds great live. On the album the songs aren't anything special. I don't think there's many songs from the first 4 or 5 albums that sound better live so what's the deal?

I love the recording of Ghost, but I agree that 1/2 Full really reaches its potential on stage.

Generally speaking, I'd say most of the tracks on Riot Act translate perfectly well to the stage. Binaural is much more of a mixed bag, with some songs really taking off, but others losing much of the great atmosphere that was to be found on the record.

1/2 Full is crazy good live. I find the studio recording to be lacking and rather uninspired, partly because the guitar sound is almost non-existent. In a live setting though, those crunchy guitars are brilliant and Ed usually nails those soaring vocals at the end :luv:

i haven't listened to this in a long time. probably due to Love Boat Captain fatigue, which seemed to dominate that whole era

oddly enough, Can't Keep was somehow in my head the other morning

Funny. LBC is my least favorite song on this album. Can’t Keep is among my favorites. There’s a lot of great things happening on this album, and while it didn’t stretch their sound as well as Binaural, it still has much to offer.
