Glad you like the mixes.

I made them just for fun, since never really like Backspacer.

Just to clarify:

These mixes were created based on stems provided in Reddit. There were isolated drums, bass, voice and guitars. The problem is that some guitar parts were mixed with other instruments or voices, so I had to cut some parts from here and there to match them during the missing parts (or parts I didn´t like).

I insist: I didn´t like some Boom´s contributions in this record, so I replace them or scratched the best I can (not all of them)

I really think that if I give some time to these stems, it could sound really well.

It started like an experiment. That´s why you can notice differences (for example) in Force of Nature or Unthought Know, since those were the last mixes I worked on, and Johnny Guitar or The Fixer the first ones... Once I got better results with last songs, I was too lazy to re-work on the first ones, so I just left them as they were...

Maybe one day I re-work everything again, just for fun. If I do, of course I will share it.

Regards

PS: I have a few others PJ´s songs from TEN, but nothing really worth sharing.

Hey Alvarojam, thanks for pointing me to those stems; I had fun playing around with them this weekend. What do you think of my Fixer remix? viewtopic.php?f=15&t=10005

I used to believe that you can't polish a turd, but once again Jorge has proven me wrong.

Thanks for the work!

Can I ask, some of them sound like you were almost live mixing them, fixer especially. Was that the case?

Hi... Do you mean if I tried to emulate how Stone and Mike sound live (regarding arrengements and riffs), in separate channels??? If so, yes.

alvaro, I quite like that moment in the second verse of the end when you briefly mute most of the music. It's striking and subtle

why aren't more people listening to this?!

Because it's pointless. Re-working a song from stems is not re-working a song at all. It adds nothing new; it's just slightly different.

It makes certain elements of the songs more prominent, can highlight different elements, focus on different interplays. Even hearing something familiar in a slightly different way is enough to make something familiar feel fresher.

The begining sounds a lot stronger - much less of that weasey intro that the rest of the song then has to claw back from
