i used to not like the guitars at all, but they have warmed up with time. Its the groove that i love though. Jeff and Matt are doing great and interest choices all around.
Its actually a great Matt and Jeff album. Got Some has some fantastic moments too. The Fixer and Johnny Guitar are awesome.
yeah, ATW showcases the rhythm section nicely for me

Resurrection erection aside, as far as the music? Doesn't sound like any denomination of gospel I've ever heard.
I'm far from a holy roller. but, those lyrics are more humanitarian than anything else to my ears. Call em cheese, call em cliche, but, the person in the song has definitely been through it and seen some shit. They resonate with me.

Oh right LOL. Sounds like the kind of music they occasionally play when my local PBS Create affiliate is doing a fundraiser. Or...the theme song of Star Trek: Enterprise.
I always weirdly liked that song. Hilarious when they tried and horribly failed to "rock it up" starting in season 3. AM I a jesus lover? Probably not...just a cheesy, maudlin bastard.

Yeah I have a friend who played drums in one of these bands and it was all vanilla chords with lots of crescendoes. Can’t believe I never noticed the similarity before.
